Killinchy Community Park
£574,268 : Funded by Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs, European Union, Ards and North Down Borough Council
The Killinchy Integrated Village Plan identifies a range of regeneration initiatives that present substantial opportunities for the village to sustainably grow in line with the overarching aims and shared vision. One of these actions was an environmental improvement scheme around Killinchy Community Hall.
This project includes
- An extension to the existing car park (creating an additional 26 spaces)
- Installation of outdoor gym equipment
- A new adventure play area
- A new general play area with seating, fencing and hedging
- A dog agility park
- A nature area including seating and picnic benches, a wildflower meadow and native planting
- An informal kick about space with improved drainage
- The installation of a pump track.
The pump track is the first Velosolutions pump track in Northern Ireland. It has attracted clubs and users from all over the country and there are lots of YouTube clips of these clubs enjoying the facility.
